Round the World...

Last week was a pretty awful experience...I literally felt like I was under house arrest with the weather being as bad as it was...no fun staying home day in and day out with a restless little baby to take care of...so like any ansty person, I put my restlessness to good use and pinned the bejesus out of pictures of gorgeous places around the world...who said it's not healthy to live vicariously through photographs? Well, to those of us who live in sub-acrtic conditions, at times fantasy is the best kind of medicine...here is a sample of some my favourite places...for more check out my pinboard "favourite places and spaces" here...enjoy...

A girl can dream right? Right! Until next time, happy and warm week everyone...

Love...

"Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being "in love" which any of us can convince ourselves we are. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident."

My Own Comfy Cozy...

It's been in the negative double digits in the city as of late and I heard a nasty rumour that this weather is supposed to continue this whole week...sigh...one of the hardest parts of living in a city where the norm  for winter temperature is for it to hover in the negative teens, is the fact that most days one is home-bound...with baby this is even worse, because although I would be brave enough to venture into sub-arctic conditions - to at least catch the bus, I cannot subject my little one to potential frostbite no matter how stir-crazy I become...so I roam around our warm abode and look for little things to take my mind of the fact that there are still at least two months left of winter house-arrest...today I made myself feel better by going around and taking some shots of some of my favourite little details in our home...I share these here with you...in the mean time I offer a silent prayer: "oh gods of winter can't you give us a break? Please!"...Guess not...enjoy...

More Mustard Please...

Winter can be, and almost always is, dreary, especially here in Canada's capital...lots of snow, not much going on and not to mention the various shades of grey and black that dot the landscape at this time of the year...drab, drab, drab...that's why I am always excited to see small little punches of colour, whether they be in the form of a scarf, purse, or whatever...colourful little details always brighten up a look and make winter seem a little less...well...drab! My colour for the month? Mustard ~ super bright and super sassy and not just for the winter either...this little shade can be enjoyed all year round, and in almost any circumstance...enjoy...

May you all have a wonderfully bright week...
