Wednesday in Polaroids...

It's a rare thing when I get to spend an entire day doing exactly what I want to do without feeling guilty over all the things I should be doing...and that is precisely what happened yesterday, I gave myself a very much needed day off...from everything...well, almost everything...after prepping for today's lecture on the Toronto School (not so fun I assure you) in the morning, I came to the conclusion that I've had enough of theory for the day and decided to take my baby blue bike for a ride to Westboro~an adorable neighbourhood in the city, which also happens to be home to my favourite store: AMH Style (formerly HUSH)...so with my camera in tow, I ventured out to document my day from beginning to end in polaroid form (and here I simply must give a special shout-out to my good friend Justyna of Chichichic blog for showing me this cool software!) As rare as it is for me to have a day to myself, however, it's even rarer that I actually remember to bring my camera along on a regular day out on the town, so I am very happy that I remembered to do so this time around...here are some of my observations...enjoy...

...And there you have it, my day out on the town in polaroid form...at least mostly in polaroid form...I really should try to do this more often, it's amazing how much I take the city I live in for granted sometimes, and even though I have only been here for 2 years, I gotta say after a day like today it's starting to feel a little bit more like home...adopted home anyway...

Summer in the Country...

Two weekends ago I was fortunate enough to escape the city heat and head to the country (North Bay) to visit good friends and enjoy some of the quiet down-time that is much needed after a week in the sweltering heat of the city...don't get me wrong, at heart I am city girl, but it is nice to escape once in a while and get away from the hustle and bustle of the urban landscape...and so with our little pup in tow, that's just what we did...below are some pictures of what we found, what we did and most of all what we ate, because let's get real, one of the best things about being in the country is being able to stuff your face with fresh fruit and other such goodies...a special thanks to our "hostess with the mostess" and my good friend Marisa, who, despite having a toddler on her hands, managed to provide one of the best weekends of the summer so far...

You know that no trip to the country is complete without a visit to the beach...sigh...

Francois Berthound fashion goodness...

For most of you who follow my ramblings, know that I am sucker for a good fashion illustration, I try to feature an artist at least one a month to keep up with my own obsession but also to share the love with everyone else...this month's illustrator is no exception...Francois Berthound is a Swiss fashion illustrator who works for Conde Nast (Vogue, Travel etc.) in Italy...his art is a unique combination of graphics and painting that results in a highly expressive work which focuses on both male and female fashion...I am particularly fond of the artist's use of colour (love the bright prints!) and the uniqueness of each work, it almost seems like every picture uses a different technique...but enough babble from me, here are some of my favourite images by the artist...enjoy...

Goodie Bags...

I like big bags and I cannot lie...(okay that's as far as my 'rapping' skills go) but seriously I love me a huge bag...being a student I am usually lugging around a plethora of books, notebooks, pens, pencils, my iPad, you name it, and I like to keep all of it in a nice oversized bag, which my husband has affectionately dubbed "the stylish black hole"...but never one to turn away from anything less-practical and equally as fashionable, I admit to putting my large tote aside in favour of a small baguette or a clutch...or two... that's why I simply could not resist doing a post on some my absolute favourite photos of clutches that I have come across throughout my internet journeys...it seems that the trend of small bags is so hot right now, that even the men are following suit, and stylishly at that! But enough talk of purses and the like, here are some of the photos I collected...enjoy...

Attack of the Neon...

Anyone who says NEON has died with the 80's obviously hasn't seen this amazing editorial by Greg Kadel for NUMERO #124. Starring model Daphne Groeneveld and styled by Bill Mullen, this shoot is a serious attack on the visual sense...not to mention it enables neon a comeback (no easy feat!) The colours and edits are stunning and incredibly creative, kind of makes you wanna pull out your old 80's hot pink and yellow tights, leg warmers and head bands...then again maybe not...
