OIFF Premier Launch...

This past Thursday I was invited to attend a truly great event indeed...The Ottawa International Film Festival (OIFF) had their official premiere party at the Gordon Harrison Art Gallery here in the city...besides the fact that the gallery is a gorgeous space (and was packed!) the atmosphere of the entire event was friendly and warm...film and movie folk mingled together with arts people, bloggers, writers and special guests, including the mayor of the city! I was attending as press for Ottawa Life Magazine, so with my arm candy, Julie Lan of popchampagne, in tow we mingled along with the rest of the crowd, enjoyed some of the goodies and I was even able to snap a few pictures in the process...although I do admit most of the pictures I included in this post were taken by more seasoned shutter-bugs...either way it was a great way to spend any evening and an amazing event to support the arts in the city and beyond...OIFF, although not yet a household name in the movie industry, is sure to be one quite soon...little sister to TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival), it is putting the Ottawa film scene on the map, one movie at a time...so for those of you in the city, who love a good flick, the event runs until late Sunday night...this Saturday will feature Aaron Ryder, the brilliant executive producer behind the cult-hit, and one of my favourite movies, Donnie Darko, so if you are an avid fan of either film or Mr.Ryder's work check it out! ...and that is how I spent my lovely Thursday evening...this weekend I am super excited to take my gal Julie (same as above) to Montreal to see the much anticipated The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier exhibit, at the Montreal Museum of Fine Art, which I have been itching to go see since it opened...I am so excited and I can't wait to write all about it, with more of my own photos of course! Until then, have a fabulous weekend everyone...
Love K

Looks like fun! I didn't attend, but I did all the creative work for OIFF and Starfish! I work with Samantha M often on creative. That 'Ebert'' sticker looks mighty familiar;)
