Anja Van Herle's Stunning Faces...

"Pictures say a thousand words"...famous saying and extremely true especially in this context...Anja Van Herle's absolutely stunning paintings of fashion faces, definitely speak volumes...the Belgium-born, L.A. based artist has apparently been painting since she was a young girl...as the article on her in trendland states: "her paintings are an attempt to tell these stories by capturing delicate facial expressions and juxtaposing them with vibrant color and the dramatic interplay of shadow and light." I couldn't agree more, the eyes especially provide a certain breath of life and mystery to her work, and the colour vibrancy and soft touch-ups instil a sense of life-like realism...I am definitely not an art-critic nor am I an art scholar, but I sure think these are amazing! For more of Herle's work, check out her website here (her site is incredible~besides her insane paintings it also features really groovy music)...in the mean time, below are a few of my personal favourites...and let me tell you it was extremely hard to choose only a few...enjoy...

...pretty great Monday morning creative inspiration, no? It's so dreary here in the capital so this really brightened up my morning, hope it did the same for you...
Love K
