Summer in the Country...

Two weekends ago I was fortunate enough to escape the city heat and head to the country (North Bay) to visit good friends and enjoy some of the quiet down-time that is much needed after a week in the sweltering heat of the city...don't get me wrong, at heart I am city girl, but it is nice to escape once in a while and get away from the hustle and bustle of the urban landscape...and so with our little pup in tow, that's just what we did...below are some pictures of what we found, what we did and most of all what we ate, because let's get real, one of the best things about being in the country is being able to stuff your face with fresh fruit and other such goodies...a special thanks to our "hostess with the mostess" and my good friend Marisa, who, despite having a toddler on her hands, managed to provide one of the best weekends of the summer so far...

You know that no trip to the country is complete without a visit to the beach...sigh...

And of course, absolutely no trip is complete without a hike through the beautiful Ontario nature...

Now back in the city and back in the heat, these pictures really make me miss the calm and peace of North Bay, not to mention our good friends...but alas it is back to work for this ol' gal so until net time, hope you are all faring the heat and enjoying the summer wherever that may be...
