Snapshots of Bratislava...

Once again, it's been a while...but coming home from vacation no matter how long or short always seems to throw my regular schedule off kilter...but I am now back at home and back to the grind...the last week of our trip was filled with family and friends back in my hometown (and familiar territory) of Bratislava, Slovakia~a small but lovely city on the edge of the Danube river surrounded by the Carpathian Mountains...Bratislava, similarly to East Berlin, is also a surviving post-COmmunist country and as much as most of the old town has been restored, there are still constant reminders of the regime throughout the city...but I won't get into that here....instead here are some snapshots of the city in which I was born...
St. Michael's Gate~Old Town...

Old Town~Restaurants, restored buildings and some street "art"...

SOme more of the Old Town and its gorgeous architecture...

Random street shots and of course some beer (this brand is Czech but Slovakia also has its fair share of brews...)

EUROVEA~A new development on the waterfront complete with funky and trendy bars (bean bag seating in some), shops, galleries and restaurants...

And this brings my travel adventure to a close...we did also go to Vienna for 2 days but this was for a wedding of some good friends, however we had little chance to explore the city so alas I have no photos to share...perhaps next time...until then, have a great day everyone...
Love K

Aw, no way. D and I will be there in a bit over two weeks. Too bad we couldn't sync up.

Oh well, you'll just have to come visit us in Boulder this winter.
