Coastal Living...

Greetings from Fredericton, New Brunswick...a gorgeous little city in Atlantic Canada (no the above is not a picture of the view from my window-I wish!)...I have been here since Tuesday (hence the lack of posts) for the CCA (Canadian Communication Association) national conference...it's been a bit of a whirlwind few days...after taking the smallest plane imaginable from Halifax to here (and those of you who know me and are familiar with my irrational fear of flying, can pretty much imagine the state I was in after boarding the mini-van with wings...eeeekkkk! But the flight was good and I survived) I was met with yet another fear...presenting my paper, which actually happened yesterday morning...but as with the plane ride, I survived my presentation with barely a scrape...I presented on Fashion as a form of communication in Communist Eastern Europe and actually got some really good feedback, which is always nice...but enough about work and such...the rest of the time I have been spending exploring this lovely city, sipping various teas at my favourite local magazine and tea shop, READS, and hanging out with my sister-in-law and fellow communication scholars...overall not too shabby...my plan was to post pictures of my observations of the city, but alas I forgot my camera cable so those will have to wait for next week when I am back...instead I am sharing some amazing photos of coastal retreats (all from Coastal Living), which make me feel both relaxed and zen...although Fredericton is on a river and not technically on the ocean, New Brunswick is. So I thought it would be appropriate to show some gorgeous sea-side retreats, plus who doesn't like to picture themselves living by the ocean somewhere...am I right, or am I right? Either way, enjoy...Well, that's it for me for today...off to the shower I go to get decent for the last day of CCA...hope everyone is having a lovely Friday...
Love K

Congratulations on your presentation going well. I laughed when I read the line about the plane - I've flown the same route (to give a presentation, natch) and I know EXACTLY what kind of plane you're talking about. My knees were up around my ears, and the flight itself is a little hair-raising! - Kat
