Mini-intermission...
May have to take a mini-blog-hiatus for the next few days as I am heading to Boston for a wedding and then to Montreal for a conference...so for my loyal readers, whoever you may be, I wish you a fabulous weekend...

Blue typewriter...
Seriously...I thought that after my comprehensive exam would be done, I would have some time to mellow out and get a fresh bout of inspiration...is that happening? NO...instead I am stressed out about writing a conference paper and inspiration is nowhere to be found...sigh...maybe I should just buy a typewriter so I am not distracted by blogging and e-mailing...but then again what fun would that be...right? Any suggestions anyone? (I feel like I am sending this out to a silent cyber-universe...)

Sex and the City 2...Pre-Screening...
So I had the pleasure of going to a pre-screening of the new Sex and the City movie last night (don't worry I won't spoil the plot)...the night was actually pretty fantastic~Billings Bridge and Starfish Events know how to put on a good show...a lot of excited ladies all dolled up, a lot of chocolate and other goodies...and as I mentioned previously I got to play 'photographer' for the night so that was also fun (see some of my photos below)...the movie...well...Let me just say, I am a HUGE Sex and the City fan~and I'm talking HUGE...it was basically the only thing (along with Hershey chocolate) that basically got me through my first 4 months of living in Asia, so I owe a lot to the show...this latest movie however, supremely lacking...in keeping with my promise of not giving anything away, I have to say that the plot is weak (and I mean SUPER weak) and leaves much to be desired, the characters over-exaggerated (specifically Samantha-if you can even imagine it!), the dialogue highly scripted and campy, the wardrobe changes excessive (and hey let me just say-a girl gotta love a wardrobe change but when the plot relies on them-well let's just say it is both obvious and tedious...) Plus, I hate to say it but if I was Middle Eastern I would be severely offended by the cultural representations-I am not surprised that Abu Dhabi and Dubai refused to let the movie be filmed in their respective nations...sigh...I must admit, this one was a pretty big disappointment for me...I may need to see it again, just to make sure :-)

Exploring Ottawa...in black and white...
Yesterday I took full advantage of the gorgeous weather and took my puppy, my friend, Jenna, and my trusty D3000 for a loooooong walk throughout the city...the result: good (fabulous) times, lots of laughs, 2 sets of tired feet, 1 extremely exhausted puppy and some photos (which I converted into black and white images because sometimes it is nice to see the world in simpler terms) anyway hope you like...enjoy...
PS~kept the last photo in colour as it was too pretty to convert into a simple duo-colour image :-)
